Stribild



Stribild is a combined antitretoviral drug created for such malady treatment as HIV for adult patients who have not received prior treatment ahead of time.

Stribild having a difficult structure includes in his formula 4 different medicines. Two of them are new anti-retroviral drugs: elvitegravir - it inhibits the integrase and cobicistat- a pharmacokinetic enhancer. The latter was included in order to increase Stribild elvitegravira level in the blood. Two other active substances are components of an approved drug Truvada. It tenofovir and emtritsitabin - nucleoside analogues nucleotide.

Stribild effectiveness and safety were evaluated in two stages of an III phased clinical study that have lasted a 48-weeks. Its effectiveness can be compared to such medicaments as Atripla and Norvir combined with Truvada and azatanovirom. Treatment of HIV-infected patients with drug Stribild increases the level of lactic acid in the blood and a negative effect on the hepar. However, the medicine usage can cause side effects, which may be : liver dysfunction, diarrhea, weakness, poor kidney function, decreased density of the osseous tissue, fat redistribution.
