XOLAIR

Xolair is an effective remedy used for treatment of persons elder then 6 years with moderate and severe symptoms of persistent atopic asthma which can be hardly controlled by the use of corticosteroids. Also it treats chronic idiopathic urticaria resistant to histamine receptors blocker therapy at persons elder than 12 years.

Xolair is an immunosuppressive, humanized monoclonal antibody derived from recombinant DNA.( IgG1 kappa antibody that contains human framework with the structural complementarity determining regions of mouse antibodies that bind immunoglobulin E (IgE))

Omalizumab binds to IgE and prevents its interaction with the high affinity receptor FcεRI-in this way the reduction of the free IgE is obtained, which is the triggering factor for a cascade of allergic reactions.

In drug treatment, patients with atopic asthma there is a marked decrease in the number of FcεRI-receptors on the surface of basophils.
