Active ingredient

Each suppository contains Bisacodyl USP 10 mg in a hydrogenated vegetable oil base.

Purpose

Stimulant Laxative

Keep Out of Reach of Children

Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children.

Bisacodyl Uses

Stimulant laxative for the relief of occasional constipation and irregularity. This product usually produces bowel movement in 1/4 to 1 hour.

Warnings

This package is intended for institutional use only. Laxative products should not be used for a period longer than 1 week or when abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting are present unless directed by physician. If you have noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over a period of 2 weeks, consult a physician before using a laxative. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult physician. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby , seek the advice of a health care professional before using this product. In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical assistance or contact a poison control center immediately.

CAUTION: Suppositories sealed in imprinted plastic packet. Do not use if imprinted packet is opened or damaged.

Directions

Remove suppository from plastic packet. Place suppository pointed end first high into the rectum so it will not slip out. Suppository should be in contact with the bowel wall and retained as long as possible. Adults and children 12 years of age and older: 1 suppository once daily. Children 6 to under 12 years of age: 1/2 suppository once daily. Children under 6 years of age: Consult a physician.
